Write out your spelling words every day using the spelling activities. Get a friend or family member (in person, on the telephone or via technology) to give you your spelling test at the end of the week... keep track of how well you do over the course of the week and including your test.
Use one or both of the links above to complete a daily writing activity.
** NOTE ** While this website is American and some of the readings will pertain to American topics and some of the math questions will use Customary units of measurement, the information can still be useful for practicing reading and math skills.
Each week different numbers will be provided... students are asked to work with at least one number - preferably one that challenges them a little bit and that they are comfortable with - and create a table using the information provided on the Number of the Week webpage.
In celebration of May the 4th, the numbers for this week include:

Miss Davies has decided to make T-shirts for herself and her mother and father... her mom wants a blue shirt, her dad wants a green shirt and Miss Davies wants a black shirt... if each letter costs $0.78 and each vowel costs $0.53, how much will it cost for Miss Davies to have the saying, 'May the fourth be with you' printed on all of the t-shirts? Miss Davies and her mom need medium sized shirts and her dad needs an X-large. Show your work.
Miss Davies is hoping to buy all 3 shirts with the saying for $30.00... did she over and underestimate the price ... calculate how much she is either under or over the amount. Show your work

Miss Davies' rocks
These are a few of the rocks I made today with my new paint markers... the spiderman and the penguin are for the children down the street as a surprise that I am going to place on their doorstep... the "you matter" is for my 80 year-old neighbour that I am keeping an "eye" on... apparently he trusts me enough that he is going to let me cut his hair when we are allowed to visit again ...
Evaluate and rate (out of 10) the growth mindset outlined by Yoda...
